"Prognosis"
Video installation. Ultrasound machine, CRT monitor

Dealing directly with the hospital environment, in “Prognosis” Amos is using a medical ultrasound machine to create poetic images. The work emerged from the idea that the ability of one to observe inward is divided into two, mentally, and physically. The by-products of both actions can lead to a fundamental change.

The way one is looking inside physically usually does not belong to himself and allows only out from the glasses of the medical system. Amos, following a history intertwined with hospitals,  creates a poetic use of this medical device, the work hopes to raise questions about the doubt that exists in medical language, and in a medical procedure. Amos believes that by defamiliarization and adding a poetic layer to medical tools it is possible to create a deeper understanding of the healing process.

By defamiliarization and adding a poetic layer to medical tools it is possible to create a deeper understanding of the medical process.  And show the lack of doubt that exists within it. The same world in his opinion functions within a closed system of laws that does not allow for a poetic view. The same poetic view may lead to a deeper understanding of the patients condition . The same poetic look allows for a re-examination of patients in a more individual way.
